Want to make your text stand out, or organize your questions and answers?

Basically the system takes care of most layout automatically. So it will detect automatically your lists, and formats it accordingly. Likewise for images, and links. The only 2 things you need to know apart from that are:

Strong and Emphasize

*emphasize*    **strong**
_emphasize_    __strong__

Those will both translate to:
emphasize strong

BBcode
If you feel like you want more control, you could also use BBcode. Below you will find the supported BBcodes in the forums,

[email]	create a clickable link for an email address
[img]	place an image on the page
[media]	place media on the page (youtube, etc.)
[b]	make enclosed text bold
[s]	strike thru enclosed text
[u]	underline enclosed text
[i]	enclosed text is italicized
[color]	change color of text (allowed only in custom titles)
[quote]	display enclosed text as a quotation block
[code]	display block of text as fixed-width source code
[list]	format a series of items as a bullet list

Usage Example:

[b]This is bold text[/b]
[i]This is italic text[/i]

Will show as:
This is bold text
This is italic text
